Summer Food Drive
United Food Bank is calling for the help of the public to fill its empty shelves. In the past three months, they have distributed a record high of 6 million pounds of food- an average of 2 million pounds per month!
While it looks like these numbers are a good sign, getting so much food out the door into the hands of the people who need it, it actually reflects a serious problem. The need has increased so much in the past year that United Food Bank must continue to provide more and more food to meet that rising need.
This year we are asking the church and community to come together and raise as much food as possible to help our food banks restock their shelves to meet the growing need, not only in the summer months, but also year round. We challenge you to help in this effort!
Once a year, thousands of families descend upon Central to celebrate this holiday. This time we're not talking about Christmas or Easter, but the Fourth of July! Be a part of the team that puts on Fire In The Sky! Share your gifts in one of many areas (listed below) and help make Central an inviting place for newcomers and our Central family. It takes a lot of hands to put together an event of this size, and we need you! What a great opportunity to reach out to people who may never have been to a church before. We need willing hands, willing hearts, and most of all, lots of smiles.
