Restorative Justice 201 Workshop
In Restorative Justice: God’s Heart for Shalom, we explored how Scripture reveals a vision of justice rooted not in punishment alone, but in restoration and reconciliation. We saw that God’s design for justice is woven throughout the biblical story—and embodied fully in the life and ministry of Jesus.
Together, in Restorative Justice 201, we will examine how the American justice system developed, the forces that shaped it, and the structures that continue to impact communities today. We will allow stories of those directly affected by incarceration, trauma, and reentry—to inform our understanding.
We invite you to wrestle with hard questions, to hold accountability and mercy in tension, and to discern what it means for the Church to embody God’s restorative way in a complex world. We will explore practical models of restoration, trauma-informed responses, and how we can actively participate in healing what has been broken. This workshop is an invitation—not just to think differently about justice—but to live it.
This is for you - even if you have not attended a previous Restorative Justice Workshop! Invite someone to join you and step in with curiosity to better understand how wide this narrative touches people - maybe even you!
This workshop will be from 9-11am and light refreshments will be served.
