Southern States Trip: An American Pilgrimage

Southern States Trip: An American Pilgrimage

This trip is an amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of American slavery and of Jim Crow laws, in stories of the civil rights movement, and the past and present narratives of the Black community in America. We will do this on a journey that starts in New Orleans; and takes us through Jackson, MS; on to Selma, AL; and ending in Montgomery, AL – visiting significant sites, learning at museums and memorials, and hearing from civil rights activists along the way. Because this trip carries over a weekend, we will even join Christian brothers and sisters at the New Horizon International Church for Sunday worship! This trip ties in so closely with Central’s call to Love Beyond, and this trip will help equip you to speak, act, and engage in new and deeper ways.
